Overview
The A Level in Psychology is an optional extra qualification that can be studied alongside our Level 3 Extended Diploma courses. This will give a combination of up to 224 UCAS points available, depending on grades achieved for each part of the study programme.
Learners will explore psychology in context by applying psychological knowledge and understanding in a range of different contexts. This includes approaches in psychology, biopsychology, and research methods. Learners will analyse, interpret, and evaluate psychological concepts, ethical issues, theories, and research studies and evaluate therapies and treatments, including their appropriateness and effectiveness. In carrying out practical research activities, learners will manage associated risks and use information and communication technology. Learners will be expected to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of multiple research methods, scientific processes, and techniques of data handling and analysis.

We recommend that you have five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including English, Maths and Science, to be best suited for this extra A Level option.
